Laminate costs around 25%-35% of alternative benchtop materials, making it great value for money. There are hundreds of laminate colours and wood-grains to choose from. Benches can be square edged or post-formed in up to 5 different profiles.
Laminate is hard wearing, easy to maintain and comes in a vast array of colours and textures. The main Laminate brands are Laminex, Formica, Wilsonart, Creastyle, Duropal and Polytec.

One customer's opinion:
"As someone who had both (granite and laminate), granite is expensive but worth every penny if your budget at all allows you to stretch to it. We had to have our laminate replaced twice as it got scratched, burnt and generally marked. And really the stone look ones only look good from a distance - it's obviously plastic upon closer inspection...
With granite I loved the fact that it was virtually indestructible - I could cut stuff directly on it, no marks, even put hot pans on it directly without any worries... Plus it really does look a million dollars!!"

Solid Surface Acrylic Benchtops offer a range of benefits across both residential and commercial applications. We can fabricate a seamless benchtop, sink and splashback package, offering a hygienic solution that is well-suited to kitchens, food preparation areas, healthcare and bathroom environments as an alternative to stone, granite and marble benchtops. Solid surfaces are also ideal for bathroom vanity tops with integrated basins.
Seamless joins reduce the opportunity for bacteria to accumulate. Solid surfaces are also non-porous, hence preventing bacterial and fungal growth.
Hygienic
Repairable
Unlike other benchtop materials, scratches and chips in solid surface materials can be readily sanded out, as an alternative to replacing the entire surface. After many years of use, they can be sanded and polished to their original condition.
Flexible
Thermoformability allows curvaceous designs that would not be achievable with traditional materials.

The most popular applications are kitchen, vanity and other bench top applications as well as flooring.

Another customer's opinion:
'I'll always pick stone over laminate. Even though some laminates can look good, and be fairly hardy, nothing compares to stone. Engineered stone (Caeserstone and the like) are good, just as granite it. Both have their pro's and cons. I'm going with granite because the darker colours in the Caeserstone don't have the same depth and strength of colour that granite does. And the fact I can sit there and hack at it with a sharpened piece of metal without any sign of scratching and marking is always a win in my books!
Granite's rich colours, stiffness and density make it an ideal choice for kitchen, vanities, reception, counter, bar tops, staircases, as well as exterior applications for example, fountains. Many stylish patterns and colours make granite the most versatile and trendy of all stones.
It is also a very low-maintenance stone. Granite is composed of quartz, feldspars, micas and other minerals. These minerals contribute to the colour and texture of the granite stones. Granites get their wonderful variety of colours and patterns from minerals that are melted into the liquid mass as it is formed.
Granite has been the choice of architects, engineers, designers, builders and homeowners as it is one of the oldest and most durable of building materials. It has long been recognised as the premium countertop material for kitchens and bathrooms and other interior and exterior surfaces. Granite can maintain its beauty and lustre indefinitely and next to diamonds, is the hardest of all natural stones.
